I think I'm officially a klutz, which I know is weird seeing as I worked as a dance instructor for three years. But in addition to my long tradition of not completely turning corners when I turn them and falling down stairs I can now add, non-motion klutziness to my resume. I went to Mexa's house on Saturday and was helping out decorating their Christmas tree. It was pretty fun seeing as she has a daughter and I haven't decorated a real tree for almost ten years now. So I'm helping hang the ornaments and as I am standing there holding an ornament I started thinking about how fragile it was and how I shouldn't drop it... and then I dropped it. That's right, I wasn't moving around at all, not walking, not even moving my hands. My MIND is klutzy, I am able to commit acts of klutziness without actually moving, apprently just thinking about ridiculous accidents is enough. As the ornament shattered all over the floor, my friend's daughter looked at me and said "Maybe you should hang these instead" and then she handed me a bag full of felt ornaments. Ahh... how I love Christmas!
You wish you were a Maghanoy...

Blogging from Walnut Creek
I could say I'm having a Turkey tryptophan hangover but since I don't really like turkey(especially turkey bacon!) I'm going to be honest and say that it's a desert related sort of sloth this time. I did however go to the gym this morning, which I know... I can't believe that I'm becoming one of "those girls". Anyways... the point is it's the day after Thanskgiving and I am enjoying myself immensely at a certain relative's house, of course due to the whole "threat of lawsuit" thing, that relative cannot be named on the blog. :) I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say that we all went to go see Casino Royale today, but we did. It was bloody good. The new guy who plays James Bond is hot, not in that charming James Bond sort of way, but almost in the torutred superhero sort of way. I highly suggest the movie, even if I found it strange that it was my Gma who wanted to go. And don't worry for the guys there are a gazillion action scenes and not one but two Bond girls.
Also, since the whole Vespa thing actually provoked comments on the blog I thought that I would relate how it is that I came to win a Vespa. Not totally interesting, but still, I won it by entering a drawing. And my NAME was picked! I know, what are the chances? Chhimi has gone as far as to accuse me of stealing his luck, since this is like the third thing I've won this year. I still somehow feel as if this whole Vespa thing will end up somehow not working out, but I don't want to be totally negative, so hopefully when I get it I can take a picture to show everybody my sweet little Vespa sitting in my garage. :) Happy Thanskgiving weekend. Go see James Bond and bond with your family.

"You look a little like a figure skater"
or so Sara told me while we were getting ressed to go out sometimes last year. And I thought, really? I thought this dress was cute? Somehow though, I sensed that this whole "Figure skater" thing was not a compliment, maybe it was because she could barely contain her laughter. This by the way is somethingI love about Sara, she somehow manages to mix polite with honest at the same time, which I love. Anyways, I still went out looking like a figure skater to some interesting results, but this is not really what this story is about. It's about a moment of "self-discovery" that I had last night.
Anybody who knows anything about Arnold and I knows that there are two things we are really into, church an dancing. For whatever reason dancing always seems to be the aspect of us that people find more interesting, but you know whatever, I blame it on Dancing with the Stars. (Emmitt rocks!) So for the first time ever, last night Arnold and I hit the mecca of Salsa Dancing, the SF Salsa Congress. It was awesome! First of all the brought Sonora Carruseles from Colombia, the best dance band ever, and the floor was perfect, not too sticky, not too fast. But it was there at the Congress that I realized something; salsa dancers are lunatics. I mean seriously, everyone there was dressed like an ice skater, or a skank or some other variation of ridiculous and this was just their normal dancing clothes, I am not even referencing the totally bizarre performance outfits. And don't even get me started on L.A. dancers, they have the strangest outfits of all, I blame them for this whole legwarmers resergence. Lest I get side tracked though the point is that now I know why I am strangely attracted to sequins, bright colors and ruffles, they look good while you are dancing. So if you invite me to a party, don't be surprised if I show up dressed like Michelle Kwan or Sasha Cohen, I can't help it, salsera soy, pa'que sepan!

I'm in L.A., it's 12:00 at night and all I can think is... who could have possible thought a t.v. show about LAX would be great. I mean when you get to LAX all you want to do is get out and go to sleep because it's exhuasting. So now, I am going to go to sleep. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Election Day
I have to admit I hate the process of voting. Even though the whole ordeal is eased because I am a permanent absentee voter it's a lot of stress, like taking a complicated test. Not to mention thanks to Schwarzanaegger I've had to vote every single year since I moved to Sac with all his stupid extra elections. But... I do vote, and I spend a lot of time picking my candidates and deciding on propositions because it is a PRIVILEGE to vote, even if it doesn't feel like one. Plus I love to complain about governemnt and honestly one has no right to complain if they are not going to participate seriously in the electoral process.
And in less soapboxy voting news. I think Arnold and I are are rooting for Emmitt Smith to win Dancing with the Stars.

I had no idea the food network was so popular. I went out to dinner last night with some college friends and apparently we all watch the food network, a lot. No really, I mean apparently all of us watch it all of the time, and only two of us actually cook. Even more bizarre it was the second time that day I had discussed the merits of the food network having had discussed it with Chhimi earlier that day. What kind of strange power does the food network have over us? It seems a little bit disturbing. So anyways, in honor of the food network. Here are my favorite chefs, not in any particular order.
Nigella Lawson
Giada DeLaurentiis
Dave Lieberman
And now that I think of it, it would be nice if the food network got some non-white chefs. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the guy from Ham on the Street. Hmmm...

I went out to lunch at Paesanos with a friend from work today and we were talking about how great Weight Watchers is... while eating a pumpkin pizza with a side of whipcream... does that qualify as ironic Alanis Morisette? And yes I know pumpkin pizza with whipcream sounds disgusting, so I'll address that too...
1) It came with the whipcream, it wasn't some weird maverick order
2) It was very good, even Herson who generally is not a fan of my sometimes "adventurous" food choices loved it, so back of all y'all!
3) I made lentil, kale and sweet potato soup on Sunday, so I feel perfectly justified in my little pizza sojourn
So there!
